Boiler Refurbishment for the London Borough of Lambeth (Housing Dept.)
Project Description
The project involved the removal of the three gas fired boilers, circulation pumps and pipework. New gas pipe was installed from the meter into the boiler room as part of this contract. New boiler and pump bases were installed, following the removal of the redundant bases. Four new 500kW Hoval down fired condensing boilers were installed, complete with fully modulating gas burners.
The existing pipework was made up of one compensated (heating) and one constant temperature circuit (Hot Water). The constant temperature circuit was retained (HWS) and the variable temperature circuit was converted into a constant temperature circuit (Heating) with a inverter controlled duplex pump set.
The existing concrete flue was lined and a new sealed twin walled stainless steel flue was installed to serve the forth boiler. New stainless steel sealed, twin walled flue was installed from the boilers to the separate stacks.
A new control panel was installed complete with Trend BMS controls. The new system was completely rewired. The contract included all builders’ works including the redecoration of the boiler room.
